GCET Exam 2014 Details for Admission, Eligibility and Qualification Criteria
The Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) 2014 is the qualifying exam for the admissions to different professional degree courses in the following main disciplines: Engineering, Medical, Dental, Pharmacy, Homeopathy and Architecture etc. The candidates who wish to apply in the concerned entrance exam must be having the desired educational qualifications and preparation in order to qualify in the concerned exam. Name of Exam: Goa Common Entrance Test
Conducting Authority: Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Goa
Courses of Admissions: MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery), BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery), BE (Bachelor of Engineering), B.Pharma (Bachelor of Pharmacy), BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine System) and B.Arch. (Bachelor of Archeology) etc
Eligibility for Exam:
The candidates should possess the required eligibility for taking admissions in the particular courses:
1. For Admissions to first year of MBBS, BDS, BHMS Courses:
The candidates should have passed Intermediate/ Class 12th from Goa Board of Higher Secondary Education or any other equivalent exam with at least 50% marks (40% marks to SC/ST/OBC candidates) obtained in the following main subjects: English, Physics, Biology and Chemistry and 45% marks to PH category candidates respectively.
2. For Admissions to first year of B.E. Course:
The candidates should be at least intermediate passed with following main subjects studied at the qualifying exam- English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry respectively. The qualifying marks should be 45% in aggregate for all the subjects (40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) respectively.
3. For Admissions to first year of B.Pharma:
The candidates should have passed intermediate with following subjects studied compulsorily – English, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/ Biology with minimum marks not less than 45% in all the subjects aggregate (40% marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates) respectively.
Exam Pattern:
The paper contains objective type multiple choice based questions of two hours duration on the following main subjects:
Physics
Biology
Chemistry
Mathematics respectively
Duration of Exam: 2 Hours
Timing of Exam:
Morning Shift: 10:00 to 12:00 noon
Afternoon Shift: 14:00 to 16:00 pm
Qualifying Criteria:
The candidates qualifying in the Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) should fulfill all the eligibility criteria and merit required for taking admissions in a particular course of the Goa Professional Colleges and Institutes.
