XIC Exam Pattern 2014 Details of Paper Pattern & Marking Criteria

The Xavier Institute of Communication (XIC) is an autonomous institution offering diploma courses in the field of Journalism & Mass Communication. The candidates are invited to take admissions through a common entrance exam usually held in the April months for all the applicants. The candidates preparing to take admissions in the concerned courses of the Institute must go through the complete details of the marking criteria, paper pattern and qualifying criteria from the information as given here below.

Name of Exam: XIC Entrance Exam

Conducting Authority: Xavier Institute of Communication

Courses of Admission: Diploma Courses in –

1. Journalism & Mass Communication

2. Advertising & Marketing Communication

3. Public Relations & Corporate Communication

4. Mass Communication Marathi and

5. Film, Television and Digital Video Production respectively

Eligibility for Exam:

The applicants in order to apply in the Xavier Institute of Communication Course should be a graduate passed in either of the following streams: Science/ Commerce/ Arts/ Management/ Media Studies/ Engineering or any other discipline. The qualifying age of the applicants should be not exceeding 30 years brought into effect from the date of closing applications.

Paper Pattern:

There will be an objective type paper conducted in the online modes in the following manner:

Part I: Objective Type Questions

Language Skills/ General Knowledge/ Knowledge about Media/ Match the Idioms/ Match Company Logos/ Match Random Names etc

Part II: Subjective Type Questions

Essay Writing on any current affair topic (200 words) 30 Minutes

Opinion Piece (250 words) 30 Minutes

Creative Writing on a visual (100 words) 15 Minutes

The applicants qualifying in the entrance exam will be required to appear and qualify in the next round of examinations which includes the PI (Personal Interview) and GD (Group Discussion) respectively.

The candidates seeking to take admissions in the Certificate Courses of the Institute will be admitted on the basis of the eligibility conditions as specified for this purpose. There will be no separate entrance exam conducted for it.
