UPMT Exam Pattern 2014 Details of Syllabus and Pattern of Examination

The UPMT (Uttaranchal Pre Medical Test) is the qualifying exam for admitting students eligible in different medical and dental colleges of Uttarakhand state under different courses offered by it. The applicants preparing for the concerned entrance exam may go through the complete details of eligibility, paper pattern and syllabus etc from the information as given here below. The entrance exam is conducted every year in the first week of May by the Uttaranchal Medical Board. The Uttaranchal Common Pre Medical Entrance Test is organized by the Govind Ballabh Pant Agriculture and Technology University Pantnagar. The university is responsible for providing admissions to the applicants in the following main courses- MBBS/ BDS etc through this entrance exam.

Name of Exam: Uttarakhand Pre Medical Test (UPMT)

Conducting Authority: Gobind Ballabh Pant Agriculture and Technology

Courses of Admission: MBBS/ BDS

Eligibility for Exam:

The applicants should be Intermediate/ Higher Senior Secondary passed with a minimum of 50% marks in the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology etc. A minimum of 5% relaxation shall be given to the PWD Candidates and 10% to the SC/ST/OBC candidates respectively. The applicants who are in the final year of their qualifying degree exam can also apply provided they can complete their courses by the date of the final admissions.

The qualifying ages of all the applicants should be ranging in between 17 to 25 years with effect from 31st December 2014 for this purpose.

Pattern of Examination:

The candidates will be required to answer the objective type multiple choice based questions on the following main subjects:

Chemistry (50 Questions)

Physics (50 Questions)

Zoology (50 Questions)

Botany (50 Questions)

Duration of Exam: 3 Hours

Selections of the applicants shall be done on the basis of the ranks obtained in the concerned entrance exam.
