UPES Exam Pattern 2014 Paper Pattern and Marking Scheme Details

The University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES) is the private university located in Dehradun providing higher education to the students in a number of under graduate as well as post graduate courses available under the university departments and affiliated colleges coming under its jurisdiction. The university is specially known for its courses and programmes in the petroleum and energy sector. The university provides admission to the students in a number of courses through a common entrance exam usually held in the months of May/ June respectively.

UPES Entrance Exam:

The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies conducts the following two entrance exams for admitting students in its engineering and management courses.

1. UPES Engineering Admission Test

2. UPES Management Entrance Test

Paper Pattern for UPESEAT:

There are objective type questions asked on the following main topics:

I Section: Mathematics- 50 Questions

II Section: Physics- 50 Questions

III Section: Chemistry- 50 Questions

IV Section: English Language Comprehension- 30 Questions

V Section: Current Affairs Awareness- 20 Questions

Total Questions Raised: 200

The candidates are required to qualify in all the sections for getting finally selected for the concerned courses.

Paper Pattern for UPESMET:

The UPES Management Entrance Test is an objective type test having multiple choice questions on the following topics:

Numerical Aptitude/ Quantitative Section; Current Affairs/ General Knowledge; Reasoning/ Data Interpretation and Verbal /Comprehension Section respectively

Total Number of Questions: 160

Duration of Exam: 2 and a half hour

The candidates will have to select the right option from the multiple choices given for each question. There will be no deduction for the answers attempted wrongly by the candidates.

Selection Process:

The written exam will be followed by the Group Discussion and Interview. The final selections will include the marks of all the exams including written test, group discussion and interview respectively.

Candidates with high merit will be allotted good colleges in counseling.
