Tripura PSC Exam Pattern 2014 Details of Eligibility and Paper Pattern
The Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC) is the competitive exam conducted for the recruitment and selection of eligible candidates in different administrative services at the state level. The candidates who are preparing for the concerned entrance exam should go through the details of the paper pattern including marking scheme and qualifying criteria listed here below. The Tripura Civil Services Exam like any other State Civil Services Exam has two main components for selection i.e. written exam and interview respectively. The candidates should qualify in both the exams for finally getting selected in it.

Exam Pattern for Tripura PSC Exam:
There are basically five compulsory papers and three optional papers on the following subjects: English Composition, General Knowledge, Bengali Composition is the compulsory papers and the optional papers include the following subjects: Science, Commerce, Arts and Engineering respectively.
Exam Pattern for Grade II Exam:
There are two qualifying exams conducted for the candidates in order to select the most suitable applicant for the administrative positions in the state.
1. Written Exam
2. Interview
The written exam is based on five compulsory and three optional papers of 100 marks each. The candidates will be given three hours time for qualifying in each paper of the Exam. The topics included under the three compulsory papers include the following:
I. English Composition;
II. General Knowledge and Current Affairs;
III.Constitution of India and Planning of India;
IV.English Essay and Precis Writing and
V.Bengali Composition and Translation/ Alternative English respectively
The optional papers can be chosen from the following list of subjects:
1. Economics
2. Sanskrit
3. Geography
4. Philosophy
5. Veterinary Sciences
6. Agriculture
7. Statistics
8. English
9. Mechanical Engineering
10. Veterinary Sciences
11. Bengali
12. Zoology
13. Mathematics
14. Chemistry
15. Physics
16. History
17. Psychology
18. Education
19. Animal Husbandry
20. Physiology
21. Civil Engineering
22. Sociology
23. Bengali
24. Botany
25. Law and
26. Political Science respectively

The candidates should qualify in the written exam with the required merit for appearing in the Interview held subsequently after it.
Those candidates who score well in the written exam as well as interview will be selected under better scales of positions for this purpose.
