Top 10 Mightiest Characters in the Dragon Ball Universe

News: Recently, I pondered over the ten most formidable characters in the Dragon Ball Universe up to December 2013, excluding GT and video game versions. Considering movies and disregarding specific transformations, I’ve compiled this list based on personal research and perspectives:

Vegito

When Vegito emerged in DBZ, facing an immensely powerful Majin Buu, Goku and Vegeta merged using the Potara Earrings to create the mightiest being in Dragon Ball history. Vegito overwhelmed Super Buu effortlessly, who had absorbed the powers of Goten, Trunks, Piccolo, and even Gohan. The fusion of Goku and Vegeta dealt with Buu’s overwhelming strength, making Vegito the most dominant figure in “Dragon Ball Z”.

Whis

A newly introduced character in the movie “Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods,” Whis stands out as a mysterious and neutral figure. As the attendant of Bills, the God of Destruction, Whis displays incredible power, surpassing even Bills himself. He showcases his prowess by incapacitating Bills with a single strike, revealing his position as the martial arts mentor of the God of Destruction.

Bills

Portrayed as the primary antagonist in “Battle of Gods,” Bills is touted as the most fearsome entity in “Dragon Ball Z” history, as per promotional materials. His ability to swiftly overpower even Super Saiyan 3 Goku, defeat Fat Buu, and effortlessly handle “Ultimate” Gohan and Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta solidifies his status as the most powerful adversary in DBZ.

Goku

Surprisingly surpassing Super Buu and Gohan, Goku secures a higher rank owing to his newfound strength obtained during “Battle of Gods” as a Super Saiyan God. This power escalation establishes Goku as the most powerful Z Fighter, elevating his position in this ranking.

Super Buu

Initially, as Majin Buu, he was a formidable force, requiring the fusion of Goten and Trunks to stand a chance. After transforming into Super Buu, he toyed with Gotenks and awaited Gohan’s arrival. Despite Ultimate Gohan’s dominance, Buu’s absorption of Gotenks and Gohan enhanced his already immense power, making him a force to be reckoned with.

Gogeta

Although placed below Goku in this list, Gogeta’s fusion in “Fusion Reborn” delivered incredible strength, defeating Janemba swiftly. Even though the Potara fusion of Goku and Vegeta formed a more potent entity (Vegito), Gogeta’s power stands out impressively.

Gohan

While his appearances in certain films appear to reduce his overall power compared to Super Saiyan 3 Goku, Ultimate Gohan remains a formidable warrior. His dominance over Super Buu signifies his exceptional strength within the non-fused Z Fighters.

Gotenks

The fusion of Goten and Trunks, Gotenks emerges as one of the mightiest characters in DBZ. He holds his ground against Super Buu and surpasses him in power after transforming into a Super Saiyan 3, making him a key player among the Z Fighters.

Janemba

Janemba’s prowess is evident as he effortlessly defeats Super Saiyan 3 Goku and Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta. His strength likely surpasses Kid Buu’s, putting him at a significant level of power.

Hirudegarn

This character proved to be a tough placement due to defeating Ultimate Gohan and Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks, despite ultimately being overcome by Super Saiyan 3 Goku. Hirudegarn’s incredible power and resilience make him a formidable opponent against some of the series’ mightiest characters.
