TANCET Entrance Exam 2014 Paper Pattern Eligibility and Qualifying Criteria

The TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test) 2014 is conducted by the TNSF (Consortium of Self- Financing Professional, Arts and Science Colleges in Tamil Nadu). The candidates will be provided admissions in the following courses: MBA (Master of Business Administration); MCA (Master of Computer Applications); ME (Master of Engineering); M.Tech (Master of Technology) respectively as made available in the Anna University Chennai. The entrance exam is held every year in the months of March/ April. Given below are the details of Paper Pattern and Qualifying Criteria for the concerned exam.

Name of Exam: TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test)

Conducting Authority: Tamil Nadu Self Consortium –Financing Professionals, Arts and Science Colleges in Tamil Nadu

Courses of Admission: MBA; MCA; ME; M.Tech

Eligibility:

The candidates should be graduate in the concerned disciplines as per the course for which application has been made by them.

Paper Pattern: 

The candidates will be required to appear and qualify in an objective type paper having multiple choice questions on the following main sections:

For MBA Course:

General English (Comprehension based questions and grammar questions)

Quantitative Aptitude

Data Interpretation and LR (Logical Reasoning) and

DS (Data Sufficiency)

Total Number of Questions: 100

Total Marks Allotted: 100

For MCA Course:

Quantitative Ability

Analytical Reasoning

Logical Reasoning and

Computer Awareness respectively

Total Number of Questions: 100

Total Marks Allotted: 100

Duration of Exam: 2 Hours for both the courses

Criteria of Marking:

There shall be a deduction of the one-fifth marks for all the incorrect attempts made by the candidates in the TANCET MBA Exam while there will be a deduction of one-fourth marks for all those attempting wrong answers in the TANCET MCA Exam respectively.

For every correct answers marked by the candidates, they shall be given one mark.

Paper Pattern for ME/ M.Tech/ M.Arch/ M.Plan Entrance Exam:

There shall be two common parts in the exam as Part I: Engineering Mathematics and Part II: Basic Engineering & Sciences while the third part of the entrance exam shall be based on the questions of the concerned discipline as chosen by the candidates for this purpose.
