Tamil Nadu TET Exam Pattern 2014 for Teacher Recruitment

The Tamil Nadu State conducts the eligibility exam for the Teacher Recruitment in several state government affiliated schools of the concerned state. The state eligibility test is conducted for selecting candidates for basically two levels- Primary Schools (Class I to V) and Secondary Schools (Class VI to VIII). The candidates preparing for the exam should be having an under graduate degree in education (D.E.Ed/ B.Ed) along with Diploma in Elementary Education/ Diploma in Teacher Education for selection of candidates.

The Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test is organized every year by the Government of Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board.

Exam Pattern:

The paper consists of multiple choice based questions of one mark each. There will be no negative marking in the paper.

Paper I:

Child Development and Pedagogy (age group 6-11)

Language I (Tamil/ Telugu/ Malayalam /Kannada/ Urdu)

Language II (English)

Mathematics

Environmental Studies

Total Number of Questions: 150

Total Marks: 150

30 Questions of 30 Marks each in all the above sections will be answered by the candidates in one hour and 30 minutes.

Paper II:

Child Development and Pedagogy (Age Group of 11-14 years)

Language I (Tamil /Telegu/ Malayalam/ Kannada/ Urdu)

Language II (English)

Optional Subjects: Mathematics and Science

Social Studies

60 Questions of 60 Marks for each optional subject

Total Questions: 150

Total marks: 150

Duration of Exam: three hours

Marking Scheme for Tamil Nadu TET Exam Pattern: (for both the papers)

Child Development and Pedagogy (age group 6-11): 30 Marks

Language I (Tamil/ Telegu/ Malayalam/ Kannada/ Urdu): 30 Marks

Language II- English: 30 Marks

Mathematics: 30 Marks and

Environmental Studies: 30 Marks

Selection Process:

The candidates should pass in both the papers for qualifying as the Secondary School Teachers i.e. Class 6th to 12th and Paper I is compulsory for the Primary School Teachers (Class I to V) appointment.
