STET Exam Pattern 2014 Paper Pattern and Marking Scheme
The State Teachers Eligibility Test (STET) is conducted for each state separately to short list candidates in the position of primary and secondary school teachers in different primary and secondary aided and un- aided government schools of the state. The exam is organized by the State Boards of Secondary Education of the particular state in which the appointments have to be made. The exam is held every year in the months of June/ July respectively for all the states. Given below are the details of exam including paper pattern and selection process for all the interested candidates to go through.

Exam Pattern for STET 2014:
The Question Paper for the State Teachers Eligibility Test consists of two papers held respectively for the appointment in the primary as well as secondary levels in the schools. The paper consists of objective type questions with Multiple Choice Based Answers of 1 mark each. The candidates will have to choose the most correct options in order to fetch marks.

Exam Pattern for Paper 1:
Child Development and Pedagogy (30 Questions): 30 Marks
Language I (Hindi) (30 Questions): 30 Marks
Language II (English) (30 Questions): 30 Marks
Mathematics (30 Questions): 30 Marks and
Environmental Studies (30 Questions): 30 Marks
Syllabus for STET Paper I:
Child Development and Pedagogy: Educational Psychology of Teaching for the children lying in the age group of 6-11
Language I (Hindi): Elements of Language and proficiency skills
Language II (English): Comprehension and Communication Skills
Mathematics/ Environmental Studies: Problem Solving Questions, Basic Understanding of the subject, and syllabus as prescribed for the Classes 1-5 by the concerned state Education Department for this purpose

Child Development and Pedagogy (30 Questions): 30 Marks
Language I (English) (30 Questions): 30 Marks
Language II (Hindi/ Sanskrit/ Punjabi/ Urdu) (30 Questions): 30 Marks
Optional Papers:
Mathematics and Science Teachers (60 Questions): 60 Marks
Social Studies/ Social Science Teachers (60 Questions): 60 Marks
Hindi/ English/ Sanskrit/ Punjabi/ Urdu Teachers (60 Questions): 60 Marks and
Home Science/ Physical Education Teacher (60 Questions): 60 Marks

The candidates choosing for the second paper of the STET Exam should attempt their selected optional paper for this purpose. The second paper of the State Teachers Eligibility Test is held specifically as per the NCTE (National Council for Teachers Education). There will be no negative marking in the paper.
