STET Exam 2014 Details for Eligibility, Application and Paper Pattern 

The STET (State Teacher Eligibility Test) 2014 is conducted for qualifying in the post of teachers at the state level schools and colleges of the different states in India. The Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is conducted by the different states to select eligible and qualified candidates in the post of Primary School Teachers and Secondary School Teachers respectively. The candidates every year participate in huge numbers in the TET Exam for selection in the different schools including government- aided and unaided as well as private ones.

Name of Exam: Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test

Conducting Authority: Maharashtra State Council of Examination

Recruitment for: Primary School Teachers (Class 1 to 5); Secondary School Teachers (6 to 8)

Eligibility for Exam:

The candidates should have the required eligibility as prescribed by the NCTE (National Council of Technical Education) for this purpose. The candidates should be graduate in education or having a Diploma in the Elementary Education for this purpose.

Exam Pattern for Maharashtra TET:

There shall be two papers in the entrance exam which shall be based on the syllabus of the concerned standard for which the candidates have made an application in the exam.

Paper Pattern:

Paper I Syllabus shall be based on the standard 1 to 5

Duration of Exam: 1&1/2 Hours

Paper II Syllabus shall be based on the standards 6 to 8

Duration of Exam: 1 and Half Hours

Paper I and II Syllabus for those candidates who wish to become teachers for Classes 1 to 8 respectively.

Qualifying Criteria:

The applicants must have secured a minimum of 60% marks in the Paper I and II respectively for becoming eligible as the Secondary School Teachers and Paper I only for those candidates who wishes to become teachers in the Primary School levels i.e. Class 1 to 5 respectively.
