State Bank of India Exam Pattern 2014
The State Bank of India holds Written Examination for Probationary Officer, Probationary Clerk (Assistant) and Specialist Officer Positions. The notification regarding vacancies is made available by SBI on its official portal and also on this link. The hiring of the candidates on the positions is done through Written Examination and Personal Interview rounds. The descriptions regarding SBI Exam Pattern for the various positions are given below.

SBI Probationary Officer Exam Pattern-2014
The exam is conducted to select the candidates provisionally for Interview. The written exam is held in offline manner i.e. paper & pen mode. The written test is Objective and Descriptive type. The paper constitutes questions from the following areas:
Objective Question Paper:
1. Reasoning
2. English Language
3. General Awareness/ Computer Knowledge/Marketing
4. Data Interpretation and Analysis
Total Number of Marks allotted for each section: 50 Marks
Total Marks of Objective Question Paper: 200 Marks
Time Limit: 120 minutes
Descriptive Question Paper:
After completion of objective question paper, the descriptive paper will be started immediately. The duration of descriptive paper will be 60 minutes. The questions will be from following areas: Short Précis, Comprehension, Letter Writing and Essay.
Total Marks of Descriptive Question Paper: 50 Marks
NOTE: There will be minimum cutoff marks for qualifying the written exam. This sectional score will differ from category to category.
Group Discussion and Personal Interview Pattern:
The Interview will be held for the candidates who qualify the written section of the exam. The first round will be Group Discussion of 20 Marks and next round will be Interview of 30 Marks.
Final Selection:
The final selection of the eligible candidates will be done through performance in Written Test, GD and PI.

Figural Classification, Drawing inferences, Coding –decoding, Space Orientation, Figural Pattern, Venn Diagrams, Numerical Operations, Problem solving, Symbolic/Number Classification, Figural Series, Critical Thinking, Observation, Embedded Figure, Word Building, Semantic Series, Trends etc.
General Awareness/ Computer Knowledge/Marketing:
Banking Knowledge, Financial and Economic News, Sports News, Books and authors, Union Budget, Five year plan, Government schemes and Policies, Awards and Honors,
International and National Organizations (ADB, BRICS, IMF, SAARC, World Bank), Inventions and discoveries, Computer Knowledge, Marketing Management Etc.
Data Interpretation and Analysis:
Permutations, Combinations and Probability, Data Sufficiency, Data Table, Pie-Charts, Line Graphs, Bar Graphs, Mixed Graphs, Case Study Etc.
English:
Comprehension, Phrase Substitution, Finding Errors, Sentence completion, Synonyms and Antonyms, Choosing correct word, Fill In the blanks, Spelling Error Check, Close Test, Rearrangement of sentences etc.
