SMU Exam Pattern 2014 Details of Pattern for Term End Examinations
The Sikkim Manipal University (SMU) is one of the biggest distance education institutions providing admissions to the students in a number of under graduate as well as post graduate courses. The university initially followed the objective type paper pattern for its term end exams which has been now changed to the descriptive type for all the courses. Paper Pattern for SMU MBA Course Exam:
There will be three parts in the paper, each having objective type multiple choice based questions from the course of study in the manner as given here below.
Pattern for Part A:
There will be multiple choice based questions of one mark each with four multiple options of answers. The candidates have to choose the most correct one out of all the four –
For Example: Management can be defined as
a) Science
b) Arts
c) Both
d) None of the Above
The candidates will be required to choose the most correct option out of the four available in order to get marks.

Pattern for Part B:
It also contains multiple choice based questions carrying two marks each for all the candidates appearing in the exam
For Example:
Merits of the Client Server System
a) Increase in cost overhead and responsibilities at the centre
b) Better cost controls of operation and development
c) Easy distribution of processing to centralized to desktop computing
d) Quicker response to requests for processing
Paper Pattern for Part C:
It will contain multiple choice based questions of the following type. The candidates will be given three marks for each correct answer marked by them.
For Example:
Match the following:
Set A: a) Individual Branding
b) Line Family Branding
c) Brand Extension Branding
d) Overall Family Branding
Set B: 1) Using on License Fee
2) Giving all of a products same name
3) Using Different Brand Name and
4) Using Existing Brand for a new product
Evaluation Criteria:
The Sikkim Manipal University follows the grade system for evaluating answers with Grade A for the scores 70% and above, Grade B for the scores 60% and above, Grade C for the scores 50% and above and Grade D for the scores 40% and above showing satisfactory results respectively.
