The Punjab Teacher Eligibility Test (PTET) is the eligibility exam conducted for short listing candidates eligible in the position of Primary and Secondary School Teachers. The candidates willing and eligible to apply in the post concerned must qualify the exam held at the state level throughout Punjab in July/ August months. The applicants need to apply online at the website of State Council of Educational Research & Training, Punjab for the Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test- 2015. The online registration for the exam concerned usually begins in first week of July and closes by first week of August every year.

Details of PSTET 2015-

Name of Exam: Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test

Conducting Organization: State Council of Educational Research & Training, Punjab

Post of Recruitment: Primary & Secondary School Teachers

Eligibility for Exam: The candidates should be at least Senior Secondary or any other equivalent exam passed with at least 50% marks along with 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education or in final year of 4 year Bachelor of Elementary Education or 2 years Diploma in Education (Special Education) or in final year of two years Diploma in Elementary Education along with Graduation.

Schemata of Exam:

The exam shall be having two papers constituting of multiple choice based questions on the following main topics:

I. Paper 1(For Classes 1-5):

1) Child Development and Pedagogy

2) Language I

3) Language II

4) Mathematics and

5) Environmental Studies

Total No. of Questions: 150

II.Paper 2 (For Classes 6 to 12):

1) Child Development and Pedagogy

2) Language I

3) Language II

Optional Papers:

4) Mathematics and Science for Mathematics and Science Teachers

Marking Scheme:

Each section of paper carries 30 marks.

Manner of Selection:

The applicants scoring at least 60% marks or more the exam concerned will be considered as qualified. Merely qualifying the exam shall not confer any right to applicants for recruitment, eligibility compliance is equally important for this purpose.

Online registration will start in the first week of July 2015 for participating in the PSTET 2015.
