PMET Admission 2014-15

The Department of Medical Education and Research invites candidates for admittance to various MBBS and BDS courses every year in Government or Private Medical and Dental Colleges located in Punjab through a Punjab Medical Entrance Test (PMET). This admission notice is also published on its official web portal i.e. punjabmedicaleducation.org. This AIPMT is scheduled on 4^th May, 2014 under the Central Board of Education. Criteria of Eligibility:

All interested aspirants require being a Higher Secondary Examination pass (10+2 pattern) with Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology/Biology and English as their obligatory subjects scoring not less than 50% aggregate marks in PCB.

Age Bar:

Aspirants must have attained the minimum age of 17 years if seeking to apply for the MBBS/BDS programme. Those who do not follow this age bar will not be eligible for the entrance examination.

Application Procedure:

Candidates accomplishing the aforesaid criteria of eligibility, are supposed to go through the instructions available on aipmt.nic.in and download the recommended application form. Fill up this form very neatly in your own handwriting in capital letters carefully without making any mistake. Make sure you fill in all the mandatory fields in the form, as failure in this might result in rejection of your form automatically. Paste a latest passport size photo of yours and complete the form with your signature at the end. Check for errors if any, and finally after cross checking, send the completed form to the prescribed address within the scheduled last dates.

Selection Methodology:

The selection of applicants will entirely be based on the marks obtained in the PMET to be conducted on 4^th May, 2014. Applicants, who do not attend this Entrance exam, will be disqualified from the admission procedure. Eligible applicants will be shortlisted on merit base only and will be called for counseling after assessment.

The Punjab Medical Entrance Test (PMET) is conducted by the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences for offering admittance of the qualified aspirants to various Bachelors’ programmes in Dental and Medicine discipline. Those who qualify this test successfully are called for further rounds of selection at Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. Therefore, presence of all applicants in this entrance test is mandatory. The university holds this state level admission test for aspirants who are willing to pursue their careers in Medical field in the Punjab University and other allied colleges of Punjab. For the current session, the University will be deciding admissions on the basis of the AIPMT (All India Pre Medical Test) 2014.
