Osmania University offers a full time one year course in the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), the admissions to which are done on the basis of a common entrance exam held by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh. The entrance exam is popularly called as the B.Ed Common Entrance Test (EdCET). Exam Pattern for EdCET 2014:

There will be an objective type test conducted with multiple choice questions to be attempted in the given time frame as specified for this purpose.

There will be basically three parts in the question paper having separate set of questions on the following topics as stated below.

Part A: General English

Part B: General Knowledge and Teaching Aptitude

Part C: Optional Paper chosen from either of the following subjects:

Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Social Studies, English respectively

Pattern of Questions:

Part A: General English: 25 Questions (25 Marks)

Part B: General Knowledge: 15 Questions (15 Marks)

Teaching Aptitude: 10 Questions (10 Marks)

Part C: Subject Selected: 100 Questions (100 Marks)

Physics: 50 Questions (50 Marks)

Chemistry: 50 Questions (50 Marks)

History: 30 Questions (30 Marks)

Eligibility for EdCET 2014:

The applicants should be at least possessing graduation in the discipline as specified for this purpose. The candidate must have studied the paper chosen for the last part as the compulsory paper in the qualifying degree exam.
