The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) is a national-level engineering examination conducted to select qualified candidates to get admission to various IITs, NITs, GFTIs institutions. The JEE Main examination is also a gateway for JEE Advance exam. Candidates who want to participate in the examination can fill out the online application form on NTA’s official website-  jeemain.nta.nic.in.

The application dates for session 1 are from 15 December 2022 To 15 December 2022 and the exam is scheduled to take place on 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31 January 2023.  For the academic year 2023, there will be only two sessions of the JEE Main Exam. The application process for the JEE Main session 2 will commence from April 2023. Candidates should make sure they fulfill all the factors of the JEE Main eligibility criteria before applying for the exam.

JEE Main 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should make sure they fulfill all the factors of the JEE Main 2023 eligibility criteria like educational qualification, number of attempts, age limit etc. Check the JEE Main eligibility criteria given below.

  • Candidates who passed the Class 12 or equivalent exam in 2021, 2022 OR Appeared in 2023.
  • Candidates who passed the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2020 or before as well as those who
    will appear in such examination in 2024 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) – 2023.

Subjects

  • Candidates must have passed class 12 with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biotechnology as mandatory subjects and Chemistry/Biotechnology as an optional subject for Paper 1 (B.Tech.)
  • Candidates must have finished class 12 with requisite subjects of physics, mathematics, and chemistry for Papers 2A and 2B

Age Limit

  • There is no age limit for JEE Main 2023 exam
  • Candidates should check the age limit of the institution they will be taking admission into.

Number of Attempts

  • Candidates will get only two attempts in the JEE Main 2023 exam.
  • Candidates can take the exam three times in a row.

Domicile

  • Candidates should be a citizen of India
  • However, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) may also apply if the category certificate is provided.

JEE Main 2023 Registration Process

The JEE Main 2023 registration process is underway for session 1 on the NTA official website. After the commencement of the session 1 cycle, the application process for session 2 will start. To register for JEE Main 2023 follow the instructions given below.

Step 1: Go to the NTA official website – jeemain.nta.nic.in (Direct Link has been provided below).

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the apply for JEE Main 2023 option

Step 3: Now fill out the registration form provide all the details like date of birth, valid phone number, email id, your name, etc.

Step 4: After completing the registration process click on submit.

Step 5: Then, you will receive a login id and password on the given phone number or email id.

Step 6: Enter the login credentials in the application window now.

Step 7: Fill out the application form

Step 8: Upload all the documents like passport size photographs, signatures, etc.

Step 9: Pay the online application fee.

Step 10: Download the confirmation page and save it for further reference.
