The North Orissa University has recently invited applicants for Ph.D admissions in its upcoming academic session 2014-15. Eligibility Conditions:

A candidate must be in possession of a Graduation as well as a Post Graduation Degree in the relevant subject from a recognized University or College with satisfactory scores in aggregate. Candidates who do not meet these criteria will not be eligible to apply for admissions in any case.

Admission Process:

The North Orissa University holds an Entrance Test at different departments for the assortment of applicants willing for admission in the Ph.D Programmes. The candidates will be shortlisted only on the grounds of their merit in this written admission test and performance in an Interview. All eligible candidates will be intimated by the University website as soon as the dates for the entrance test and Interview will be scheduled. Thus, aspirants who do not qualify or appear in this exam successfully will not be admissible in the University.

How to Apply:

Intending aspirants who fulfill the above mentioned eligibility condition can download the prescribed application format from its authorized web portal- nou.nic.in . After downloading this form, you are supposed to fill it appropriately with authentic details in your own hand writing making sure that no mistakes are made in the form. Applicants are also liable to make a payment of INR.1000/- as application fee charged by the University council. This payment is to be made through a crossed demand draft drawn in favor of the Comptroller of Finance, North Orissa University to be paid at Baripada. After making this payment, applicants need to send their completed forms accompanied with all obligatory transcripts supporting your application and the DD to the below mentioned address so as to reach the same on or before the last date of 30^th April, 2014:-..

The North Orissa University was established in the year 1989 by the Government of Orissa under the Section 32 of the Orissa University Act, 1989 (Act 5 of 198. The University is included in the list of Universities maintained under section 2 (f) of the University Grants Commission Act 1956, to impart higher education in the Tribal base area of Northern Orissa. The jurisdiction of the University extends over two districts, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar. There are 80 affiliated colleges, both general and professional, catering to the demand of higher education.
