MHT CET Exam Pattern 2014 Eligibility, Paper Pattern and Qualifying Criteria
The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) is the qualifying entrance exam for providing admissions to all the eligible applicants in the medical and engineering courses as made available in the different private and government colleges of the Maharashtra State. The exam is held every year by the state universities of Maharashtra for providing admissions to the students of Maharashtra as well as nearby places. Eligibility for Exam:
All the applicants appearing in the concerned entrance exam should have completed Intermediate/ Class 12th from any UGC recognized universities in the subjects concerned as per their application made. Candidates applying for the Medical Courses must have studied the following subjects- Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Botany/ Zoology respectively whereas applicants for the engineering courses should have studied – Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as the main subjects.
Scheme of Examination:
There will be an objective type paper having multiple choice based questions on the following main subjects-
1. Mathematics
2. Physics
3. Chemistry and
4. Biology respectively
There will be three papers in the entrance exam having questions as follows:
Paper 1- Physics and Chemistry (50 Marks + 50 Marks)
Paper 2- Biology (Botany & Zoology) 50 Marks + 50 Marks
Paper 3- Mathematics (100 Marks)
Duration of Exam: 3 Hours

Marking Criteria:
The candidates will be awarded 4 marks for each correct answer marked by them whereas there will be a deduction of 1 mark for each questions wrongly attempted by them.
The questions in the exam shall be raised in any of the following languages as per the choices of the applicants- English, Marathi and Urdu respectively.
Syllabus for MHT CET:
The candidates should prepare as per the syllabus of the Class 11th and 12th standard from the books prescribed by the Board concerned.
