Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences conducts MGIMS Entrance Exam to select capable candidates for admission in undergraduate medical courses. The college was established in 1969 and is currently run by Kasturba Health Society. The college was affiliated to Nagpur University till 1997 but now it is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences. Every year 65 students are selected for admission on the basis of this entrance test, which is given by thousands of students.

Candidates have an option of selecting their examination centres form Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Nagpur. The centres would be allotted purely on first come first serve basis. If a situation arises when no vacancy is present in the centre asked by the candidate, he/she will be allotted another centre and would be informed about the change.

• Release of application forms- 2/1/2013
• Last date for receiving application form: 29/2/2013
• Last date for receiving application form with penalty: 10/3/2013
• Date of MGIMS Entrance Exam 2013: 15/4/2013

Application Procedure
One can easily get the information bulletin and the application form along with the model papers of chemistry, physics, and biology along with Gandhian thoughts from the college by paying Rs.1000 in person. If you want to get them posted to your residence then you can do so by getting a challan from the website of the college and depositing the amount at State Bank of India using the challan.

Pattern of the paper
The MGIMS Entrance Exam 2013 is divided among 2 papers the first one being objective contains 60 questions each in physics, biology and chemistry. The second paper is subjective and is based on Gandhian Thoughts.

Eligibility Criteria
• The candidate must have passed 10+2 in Physics, Biology, Chemistry and English, scoring 50% or above in Biology, Chemistry and Physics combined.
• For candidates under SC/ST category get a 10% relaxation in the percentage criteria.
• He/ she must be medically fit and should be above 17 years.
