Madurai Kamaraj University has been established in the year 1965 in the city of Madurai. Initially called as the Madurai University, the university was renamed as the Madurai Kamaraj University in honor of the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu- “Karmaveerar K. Kamaraj”.
