Kendriya Vidyalaya Exam Pattern for Recruitment Exam to TGT & PGTs

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan invites application every year for the recruitment of the TGT (Trained Graduate Teachers) and PGT (Post Graduate Teachers) respectively through the written exam held on the dates as specified for this purpose. The candidates who are eligible and interested to appear in the concerned exam must go through the details of exam including the paper pattern from the information given as here below.

The vacancy for various teaching posts is announced officially at the website of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. The candidates qualifying in the written exam will be called to attend the interview which will be conducted subsequently after the written exam.

Paper Pattern for Post Graduate Teachers post:

There will be a one single question paper under different subjects including the following: English, Hindi, Chemistry, Economics, Commerce, Physics, Mathematics, History, Geography, Computer Science, Bio Technology and Biology respectively

Total Number of Questions:

Part I: 40 Questions (Hindi and English) -40 Marks

Part II: 160 Questions (Current Affairs: 20 questions; Reasoning & Numerical Ability: 20 questions; Teaching Methodology: 20 questions; Subject Related Questions: 10) – 160 Marks

Duration of Exam: Three hours

Marking Scheme:

The candidates should secure the minimum cut off marks in the paper 1 only then they will be evaluated in the second part of the question paper. The minimum marks required in the first part of the paper are as follows: Hindi (5 marks) and English (5 marks) and 13 marks aggregate in both the subjects

Weightage of Marks:

The final selection of the candidates will be made on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidates in the part 2 of the paper and interview.

Written Part 2 Exam: 70%

Interview Part of Exam: 30%

Exam Pattern for TGT (Trained Graduate Teachers) Posts:

There will be two parts in the question paper on different subjects as stated here below.

Part I: 30 Questions (English: 15; Hindi: 15) -30 Marks

Part II: 120 Questions (Reasoning Ability: 40; Teaching Methodology: 40; Current Affairs: 40 Questions) – 120 Marks

Duration of Exam: 150 minutes

Marking Scheme:

The candidates will be evaluated for final selections only when they secure the minimum marks as required for this purpose in the first paper. The candidates should secure at least 4 marks in English and 10 marks in Hindi for this purpose.

Paper Pattern for Music Pattern:

Part I: 30 Questions (15 English and 15 Hindi)- 30 Marks

Part II: 120 Questions (Current Affairs: 30; Reasoning Ability: 30; Musicology: 60)

Duration of Exam: 150 minutes
