JMET Exam Pattern 2014 Eligibility, Questions and Marking Scheme Details

The Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET) is the common entrance exam conducted for the admission of eligible applicants in the different management courses available in the IITs (Indian Institute of Technology’s) and IISC s (Indian Institute of Sciences) Bangalore respectively. Name of Exam: Joint Management Entrance Test

Conducting Authority: IIT & IISC

Courses of Admission: PG Courses in Management

Places of Admission: IISC Bangalore, IIT Bombay/ Delhi/ Kharagpur/ Madras/ Roorkee/ Kanpur

Eligibility for Exam:

The candidates in order to apply for the Joint Management Entrance Test should have completed their Bachelor of Technology/ Master of Science with a minimum of 60% marks obtained in the concerned qualifying degree exam.

Paper Pattern & Marking Scheme:

The Joint Management Entrance Test shall be consisting of objective type multiple choice based questions on the following main subjects:

Section I: Verbal Communication (30 Questions) 30 Marks

Section II: LR (Logical Reasoning) 30 Questions 30 Marks

Section III: Quantitative Ability (30 Questions) 30 Marks

Section IV: DI (Data Interpretation) 30 Questions (30 Marks)

Total Number of Questions: 120

Total Marks Allotted: 120

Duration of Exam: 2 Hours/ 120 Minutes

Marking Criteria:

The applicants will get one mark per question for right attempts made by them. There shall be negative marking in the exam. For every wrong answers attempted by the applicants, there will be a deduction of 0.25 marks respectively.

There will be four options in the exam per question. The applicants should choose the most appropriate one in order to score positively in the concerned entrance exam. The candidates must score the minimum cut off marks per section to qualify in it. The applicants will be provided OMR sheets to answer the questions.
