JIPMER Exam Pattern 2014 for Medical Courses

The Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) conducts a common entrance exam for inviting admissions to different post graduate medical courses in the concerned college. The candidates who are eligible can appear in the exam usually held in the months of June/ July respectively. Eligibility for Exam:

The JIPMER Entrance Exam is open for all the eligible Indian nationals who have passed Intermediate from Biology Group with minimum percentage of marks being 50 for all the unreserved category of candidates and 40% for the reserved ones respectively.

Pattern of Exam:

There will be Multiple Choice based questions raised from the group of subjects as given below with number of questions equally distributed in each set of paper.

Total Number of Questions: 200

Distribution of Marks:

Physics: 60 Marks

Chemistry: 60 Marks

Biology: 60 Marks

English: 20 Marks

Marking Criteria:

The students will be awarded one mark for each correct question attempted by them whereas there will be a deduction of zero marks for wrong answers attempted by the candidates.

Since, there is no negative marking in the paper hence; applicants can attempt any number of questions as they feel like.

Mode of Examination:

The exam will be held only in online modes and no offline exam will be conducted. The exam will be held in English Medium only. There will be four options for each question out of which the candidates have to choose the most correct option for answer.

Syllabus of Exam:

The candidates should prepare as per the syllabus of Class XI and XII of any prescribed State Board for Higher Secondary and Senior Secondary Education and CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) respectively.
