JIPMER Admissions 2014 Courses Available & Entrance Examinations

The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research conducts its admissions every year through an entrance exam conducted in the Institute for all the eligible candidates. There are basically two entrance exams organized by the Institute for inviting admissions to its courses. These are- JIPMER MD/ MS Entrance Exam and JIPMER MBBS Entrance Exam respectively. Recently, the university has announced admissions to its MD/ MS Course Program through an entrance exam, the results of which has been declared at the website.

JIPMER MBBS Entrance Exam 2014:

The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research will be announcing the dates for the conduct of its entrance exams in MBBS Course Programme. The candidates wishing to appear in the concerned exam can go through the details of application and selection procedure from here below.

Eligibility for JIPMER MBBS Exam 2014:

The candidates should be Intermediate/ 10+2 in the following subjects- Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and Mathematics. A course in English as per the NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training) should be studied in the qualifying exam. The minimum percentage of marks required in all the above subjects should be 50% put together. The candidates in order to qualify in the JIPMER MBBS Entrance Exam must be having at least 40% marks in both qualifying exam as well as entrance exam.

Pattern of MBBS Entrance Exam 2014:

The MBBS Entrance Exam for the Institute is based on the syllabus of Class 11^th & 12^th respectively having Multiple Choice Based Questions in objective modes. The candidates will have to answer the questions on the following:

English- 40 questions

Chemistry- 40 questions

Biology- 40 questions

Zoology- 40 questions

Physics- 40 questions

Botany- 40 questions

Total Number of Questions- 200

Duration of Exam: two hours

Marking Scheme:

There is no negative marking in the JIPMER MBBS Entrance Exam. The candidates will be given one mark for each correct answer and no deduction will be made for the wrong answers attempted by the candidates.

Ahmadabad, Bhopal, Bangalore, Chennai, Guwahati, New Delhi, Puducherry, Nagpur, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Thiruvananthapuram respectively

Selection Procedure:

The candidates will have to secure the required merit in the entrance exam. In case, the candidates secure same merit in the exam then selection will be done on the basis of marks compared in the following subjects- English, Physics, Chemistry and Botany respectively. In case, the marks tally again then preference will be given to the senior candidate.
