IOP Application Form 2014-15

The Institute of Physics, Bhubaneshwar invites eligible candidates for admissions into various Graduate, Pre-Doctorate, Advanced and Doctoral courses for its forthcoming academic session every year. The details of these programmes are also updated on its official web portal- iopb.res.in .  However, the last dates for applying into Ph.D Programme is already over, interested aspirants are advised to keep visiting our site regularly and apply as soon as the next official advertisement for admission is published on its official site.

Minimum Pre-requisites:

Candidates, seeking admissions in the Doctoral courses in the Institute of Physics (Ph.D) must be in possession of their M.Sc. degree in Physics with scores not less than 55% in aggregate. Apart from this, applicants also need to submit a valid GATE score card of 95 percentile or higher for being eligible for this admission or CSIR-UGC- NET (only JRF Qualified) qualifiers within the last one-year or applicants who are offered DST-Inspire fellowship for carrying out Ph. D program.

Admission Criteria:

The admission to this programme will be made through a written test and a subsequent personal interview held for shortlisted candidates. All qualified and engrossed applicants, whether applied through JEST-2014 or directly, will have to appear in this short written test to be held on 18^th June, 2014. The result of this written exam will be announced on the same day and shortlisted applicants will thereon appear for a personal interview to be scheduled from 18^th to 20^th June, 2014. Final merit list will be prepared based on the scores of both the written test and the interview.

Concerned and deserving applicants, fulfilling the basic pre-requisites, are supposed to download the recommended application formats from the official website- iopb.res.in . After downloading this form, fill it appropriately with all your genuine details. Any sort of error or incompletion might result in cancellation of your form. After filling the form in all respect, affix your latest colored passport size photo on the available space. Finally enclose all relevant copies of certificates supporting your application and send it to the prescribed Institute address through ordinary or speed post so that it reaches the Institute within the last dates.
