Short Term Courses

Details of Master of Population Studies (MPS) Programme:-

Requirement of Qualification:

Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Geography, and Anthropology, with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade. Candidates awaiting results of qualifying examination latest by 30th September 2014 can also apply for consideration. Theupper age limit is 28 years as on 30.6.2014. Marks and age are relaxable for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per GOI rules.

Admission Ground:

The selection will be made on the basis of a written test and personal interview. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the test and interview. Shortlisted candidates appearing for admission test are entitled to claim sleeper class train fare by the shortest route on production of original tickets and in case of road journey normal fare will be paid only for travel by public transport run by a Government body.

Process of Registration:

The keen applicants can have the application form & information brochure from the University in person or by sending a self addressed ` 50/- stamped envelope (25cm x 12cm) to the University.

The completed application form along with necessary enclosures and a non-refundable processing fee of ` 500/- (exempted for SC/ST and PH candidates) by Demand Draft, drawn from any nationalised Bank in favour of the Director, IIPS, Mumbai should reach the Assistant Registrar (Academic). The processing fee may also be paid by cash at the cash counter and the cash receipt should be attached along with the completed application set. Incomplete applications will be summarily rejected. The Institute reserves every right to cancel the course at any moment.
