Indian Air Force Exam Pattern 2014 Details of Paper Pattern and Qualifying Criteria
The Indian Air Force (IAF) conducts every year the common entrance exam for the post of Non Technical Group Y. The exam is conducted by the Indian Air Force to short list eligible applicants for different technical and non-technical posts respectively. Name of Exam: Indian Air Force Recruitment Exam
Conducting Authority: Indian Air Force
Recruitment for:
1. Technical- Auto Technician; Communication Technician
2. Non Technical- Administrative Assistant/ Accounts Assistant/ Logistics Assistant/ Medical Assistant/ Services Assistant/ Indian Air Force (Police)/ (Security)/ Meteorological Assistant/ Ground Training Instructor/ Environmental Support Services Assistant/ Musician/ Ops Assistant
Eligibility for Exam:
The candidates applying to the Group Y Trade (except Medical Assistant and Musician) posts shall be Class 12th passed with a minimum of 50% marks obtained in English as a separate subject and in aggregate from any recognized central/ state Boards of India for being eligible in the concerned recruitment exam.
The applicants for the post of Medical Assistant should be Intermediate passed in the following main subjects: Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology/ English and a minimum of 50% marks obtained in the concerned qualifying examination.
Age Eligibility:
Minimum age should be 17 and maximum age should be 21 years respectively for qualifying in the concerned recruitment exam.

Pattern of Examination:
The candidates applying for the above stated positions should appear and qualify in the following examinations:
1) Group Y (Non Technical Trades) – RAGA (Reasoning & General Awareness)
Duration of Exam: 45 Minutes
2)PFT (Physical Fitness Test)- It consists of the following: 1.6 km run to be completed in 8 minutes; IAF (Security) – 2.4 km run to be completed within 8 minutes and 5 km run to be completed in 15 & 30 minutes respectively.

The applicants qualifying in all the above stated exams shall be included in the All India Select List (AISL) which will be the final list for selections.
