IIFT Exam Pattern 2014 Scheme of Examination and Selection Criteria
The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) is the national level management entrance test conducted by the IIFT New Delhi to provide admissions to the eligible candidates in the two year full time management programmes available at the Masters level. The exam is held in the paper pencil formats for all the candidates at the different centres of examination all over India. Eligibility for Exam:
The applicants should be graduation passed from any discipline with the minimum qualifying marks to participate in the concerned entrance exam.
Scheme of Examination:
The IIFT Exam shall be held in the paper pencil formats only. There are basically four major sections in the exam and two sub sections in the manner as explained here below.
Section I: Quantitative Ability
Section II: Logical Ability
Section III: DI (Data Interpretation) and
Section IV: Reading Comprehension respectively
Distribution of Questions:
1) Quantitative Aptitude (25 Questions)
2) Reasoning/ Logical Ability (20 Questions)
3) Verbal Ability (20 Questions)
4) Data Interpretation (19 Questions)
5) Reading Comprehension (16 Questions) and
6) General Awareness (28 Questions)
Total Number of Questions: 128
Duration of Exam: 2 Hours
Timing of Exam: 10:00 am to 12:00 noon

Marking Criteria:
The marking of the exam will be done in the manner as given here below:
Section I: Quantitative Ability- 1 Mark per Question
Total Allotted Marks: 25
Section II: Logical Ability- 0.75 Marks per Question
Total Marks Allotted: 15
Section III: Data Interpretation- 1 Mark per question
Total Marks Allotted: 19
Section IV: Verbal Ability- 0.75 Marks per question
Total Marks Allotted: 15
Section V: Reading Comprehension- 0.75 Marks per question
Total Marks Allotted: 12
Section VI: General Awareness- 0.5 Marks per Question
Total Marks Allotted: 14
The candidates shall be penalized in the form of 1/4th marks being deducted for every wrong attempts made by the applicants in the concerned entrance exam.
