The International English Languages Testing System (IELTS) is the international exam organized by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate, British Council and IDP Education Australia. Eligibility for Exam:
The IELTS Test is conducted for those candidates who want to work or study abroad or places where English is the official language for communicating in the work place/ study centres respectively.
The IELTS English is recognized in the following countries- Britain, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom and United States of America respectively.

Scheme of Examination:
There are basically four modules to clear in the IELTS Exam. These are: Listening, Reading, Writing and speaking respectively.
There shall be a choice between the Reading and Writing Modules whereas Listening and Speaking Modules shall remain the same. The Academic Training Module shall be taken by those applicants who wish to take tests for professional reasons or for admissions to the under graduate and post graduate courses and the General Training Module is meant for those who have to take admissions in the secondary schools/ immigration to foreign countries or vocational/ training programs available for professional competence respectively.
Format of Exam-
The candidates should take the modules in the following manner-
Listening – This section shall consist of 40-10 questions in each of its four sections to be solved in 30 Minutes. The module shall have multiple choice questions, short answer questions, sentence completion and chart/ table completion based questions respectively.
Reading – This section will be having 3 sections for both General Training and Academic modules having 40 questions in total to be solved in 60 Minutes/ 1 Hour time frame for all the applicants. The questions will be based on the identification of writers’ views/ attitudes, matching lists/ phrases, labeling a diagram and choosing suitable paragraph respectively
Writing- The section will be consisting of 2 tasks in writing to be completed in 150- 250 words respectively and
Speaking – This section of the exam should be completed within seven days before or after the other modules. The time allotted to this section is 11-14 minutes for all the applicants.
