IBSAT Exam Pattern 2014 Detailed Examination Scheme & Selection Criteria

The IBS Aptitude Test (IBSAT) is the qualifying exam for the selection and recruitment of eligible candidates in the different management courses available at the post graduate level including MBA and PGPM respectively. The exam is organized and conducted every year by the ICFAI Business School Group in the months of December/ January. Name of Exam: ICFAI Business School Aptitude Test (IBSAT)

Conducting Authority: ICFAI (Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India) Group

Courses of Admission: MBA (Masters of Business Administration)/ PGPM

Eligibility for Exam:

The candidates should have the minimum educational qualification of graduation for eligibility to qualify and appear in the concerned exam.

 Examination Scheme:

The ICFAI Business School Aptitude Test shall consist of objective type multiple choice questions on the following main sections:

1. Verbal Ability

2. Reading Comprehension

3. Quantitative Aptitude

4. DS (Data Sufficiency) & DI (Data Interpretation)

5. General Awareness respectively

Total Number of Questions: 125

Distribution of Questions section-wise for IBSAT:

Section I: Verbal Ability -50 Questions

Section II: Reading Comprehension- 25 Questions

Section III: Quantitative Aptitude- 25 Questions and

Section IV: Data Sufficiency and Data Interpretation- 25 Questions

Total Time Allotted/ Duration of Exam: 2 Hours/ 120 Minutes

Marking Criteria:

The candidates shall be given one marks for each correct answer. There will be five options available per question; the candidate should mark the most correct one out of it. There is no deduction of marks in case of wrong options marked by the applicants hence; the applicants can attempt as many questions as they like in the exam.

The applicants must score equally in all the sections of the exam. The difficulty level of questions in the IBSAT Exam can be said as moderate as compared to the other national level management entrance tests like CAT/ MAT/ IIFT etc. The candidates shall be given a total of 25% of weightage to the scores obtained in the entrance exam for getting selected in the particular management courses of the ICFAI University B Schools.
