Nevertheless, he triumphed, stating that he felt great and had room for more food, planning to enjoy some drinks later.

Geoffrey Esper secured second place, managing to consume 49 hot dogs, while James Webb from Australia secured third place with 47 hot dogs. Thousands of spectators gathered in Coney Island, New York, to witness the competitive eaters battle it out to consume as many hot dogs as possible within the allotted 10-minute timeframe. However, the contest faced a significant delay as a rain and lightning storm struck the area, forcing the audience to seek shelter.

Following the weather delay, the competition resumed at 2 p.m. ET, thrilling the eager crowd. However, there were reports of a potential lightning-related injury on Coney Island, and emergency responders attended to a patient who was taken to Lutheran Medical Centre in Brooklyn.
