The Hari Singh Gaur Vishwavidyalaya is a central university located in Madhya Pradesh. The university has been established by Doctor Hari Singh Gaur on 18th July 1946 as the oldest and biggest universities of Madhya Pradesh state. The university presently constitutes 36 departments and 9 faculties with about 175 affiliated colleges covering 6 districts of Madhya Pradesh state under its jurisdiction.
