GCET Exam Pattern 2014 Detailed Paper Pattern and Syllabus for Preparation
The Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) is the common entrance exam conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education Goa for admission of eligible candidates in the Bachelor Degree Programmes in the disciplines of medicine, engineering, architecture, pharmacy and dentistry etc in the government as well as government sponsored private colleges in Goa. Name of Exam: Goa Common Entrance Test
Conducting Authority: Directorate of Technical Education Goa
Courses of Admission: B.Tech/ BE
Eligibility for Exam:
The applicants must be Intermediate/ Class 12th passed from any recognized university/ college with the concerned subjects- Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry for taking admissions in the Bachelor of Technology courses.
The qualifying ages of all the applicants should be not exceeding 27 years for participating in the concerned entrance exam.
Paper Pattern & Qualifying Criteria:
The Goa Common Entrance Test shall consist of multiple choice questions on the following main subjects:
Part I: Physics (75 Questions)
Part II: Chemistry (75 Questions)
Part III: Mathematics (75 Questions)

Total Number of Questions: 225
Total Marks Allotted: 225
Duration of Exam: 2 Hours
Marking Criteria:
There will be no negative marking in the exam. The correct attempts in the paper will fetch one mark each to all the applicants.
Syllabus of Study:
The candidates should prepare as per the syllabus of the Intermediate/ Class 12th as prescribed by the Goa Education Board or any other Board equivalent for this purpose.
The Goa Common Entrance Test is normally conducted in the first week of May every year for all the eligible applicants. The exam for the present session i.e. 2014-15 has been already conducted on 7th & 8th May 2014 for different subjects.
