GATE Exam 2014- 15
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is an All India Examination jointly held by the Indian Institute of Science and 7 IITs for the assessment of candidates’ comprehensive understanding of different Bachelor’s subjects in Engineering, Architecture or Technology as well as PG level subjects of Science. The GATE scores are useful during admissions to Master or Doctorate level programmes, however, the same may also be used for selection purposes at Public and Private Sector Undertakings for recruitments. This year, the GATE 2015 Online Examination is scheduled on 31st January, 1st, 7th, 8th, and 14th February, 2015 therefore, all eligible candidates may apply online from 1st September to 1st October, 2014. Examination Pattern:
Gate 2015 will conduct its all the 22 papers through an ONLINE Computer Based Test, however, some of the papers shall be held in multiple sessions. The questions in a GATE paper are intended to check the Recall and Comprehension abilities of the applicants. The paper will contain 65 questions carrying 100 marks, out of which 10 questions carrying a total of 15 marks are in General Aptitude. GATE 2015 shall consist questions of 2 categories in various papers (viz. AE, AG, BT, CE, CH, CS, EC, EE, IN, ME, MN, MT, PI, TF and XE):-
-Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ): This part shall contain objective type questions, where each will have a choice of 4 answers, out of which the applicant has to select the correct answer(s) and will carry 1 or 2 marks each in all papers and sections.
-Numerical Answer Questions: This part shall contain questions of which the answer is a real number, and is supposed to be entered by the applicants by using a virtual keypad carrying1 or 2 marks each in all papers and sections. No choices shall be available for candidates for this type of questions.

How to Apply:
Interested contenders, who are eligible and are looking forward to appear in this Exam, are supposed to register themselves for this Exam via Online mode only. The link for online application will be accessible for all candidates from 1st September to 1st October, 2014 at gate.iitk.ac.in or any of its zonal IISc or IIT websites. All applicants must make sure that the hard copy of the completed online application with the candidate’s signature photo affixed on it is received by the respective GATE office along with necessary documents within the closing dates.
