FCAT Exam Pattern 2014 Details of Marking, Questions and Selection Criteria

The FCAT (Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test) is conducted as a benchmark test to measure the standards of education in the schools of America. The test is conducted basically to test the knowledge and skills of the students in the reading, writing as well as quality learning in schools. The candidates scoring high in the concerned exam are considered good as far as the schools associated with it are ranked and rated through it. Benchmark Test for: SSS (Sunshine State Standards)

Paper Pattern:

The Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test shall consist of variety of tests to measure the performances of the schools, teachers as well as its students. Some of the main tests of the FCAT include the following:

1. Florida End of Course (EOC) Assessment

2. FTCE (Florida Teacher Certification Examinations)

3. FELE (Florida Educational Leadership Examinations)

4. NAEP (National Assessment of Educational Progress)

Criteria of Examination:

The Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test shall consist of standard based questions on the following: Reading, Mathematics, Science and Writing respectively. The following stated questions are put up as follows:

1. Reading (Grade 3-10)

2. Mathematics (Grade 3-8)

3. Science (Grade 5-8) and

4. Writing (Grade 4, 8 & 10)

The exam prescribes the passing of the Sunshine State Standard in all the schools of Florida. The exam is organized in the months of May/ June respectively every year to assess the performances of the students for a particular school in Florida. The students not participating in the FCAT shall be remediated the following year of the school and it will also affect the accountability as well as reputation as far as quality standards are concerned for that particular school.
