ESIC Exam Pattern 2014 for Paper Pattern and Marking Criteria

The Employee State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) is the corporation framed by the government for the employees seeking insurance as per the ESI (Employee State Insurance) Act 1948. The organization conducts the recruitment exam every year for the recruitment of eligible candidates in the post of LDC, Staff Nurse and Pharmacist respectively. Paper Pattern for ESIC Multi Tasking Staff Recruitment Exam 2014:

There will be two papers in the exam on the following major topics:

Paper I: It will have objective type multiple choice based questions on the following main topics:

Numerical Ability: 50 Marks

English Language: 50 Marks

General Intelligence: 50 Marks and

General Awareness: 50 Marks respectively

Duration of Exam: two hours

Time of Exam: 10:00 am to 12 noon

Total Marks Allotted: 200

Marking Criteria:

The candidates will be penalized in the form of 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answers attempted by them.

Paper II: This paper constitutes the skill test in Computer Operations which includes the following questions:

Preparing Power Point Presentation: 10 Marks;

Typing Letter in MS Word: 20 Marks and

Preparing a Table/ Database in the MS Excel: 20 Marks respectively

Total Marks Allotted: 50

 Duration of Exam: 30 Minutes

 Total Exam Duration: two hours and 30 minutes

Qualifying Criteria:

The ESIC shall decide upon the qualifying marks to be obtained by the candidates in the written exam. The candidates who qualify in both the papers of the written exam shall be called for the Interview which will be held subsequently after the written exam.

Weightage of Marks:

Written Exam and Skill Test: 80%

Interview: 20%

Distribution of Weightage Marks:

Written Exam: 80% (70% weightage)

Computer Skill Test: 30% Weightage respectively

The final selection in the different Multi Tasking Staff Recruitment consists of marks obtained in all the tests as specified above and the merit obtained by candidates in aggregate.
