Common Written Exam Pattern:

The Institute of Personnel Management (IBPS) conducts the Common Written Examination for provisionally selected candidates for the Interview rounds. The CWE is organized for hiring of candidates on Probationary Officers, Office Assistant (Multipurpose), Specialist Officers for Nationalized Banks and Regional Rural Banks. The Pattern of Examination will be little bit different for nationalized bank and RRBs.

Exam Pattern of IBPS CWE for Probationary Officers:

1. English Language: 40 Marks

2. General knowledge (Banking Field): 40 Marks

3. Computer Knowledge: 20 Marks

4. Reasoning: 50 Marks

5. Quantitative Aptitude: 50 Marks

Exam Pattern of IBPS CWE for Office Assistant (Multipurpose):

1. English Language: 40 Marks

2. Reasoning:  40 Marks

3. Computer Knowledge: 40  Marks

4. General Awareness (Banking Reference):  40 Marks

5. Numerical Ability: 40 Marks

 Exam Pattern of IBPS CWE for Specialist Officer:

1. English Language: 25 Marks

2. Reasoning:  50 Marks

3. Professional Knowledge: 75 Marks

4. Quantitative Aptitude: 50 Marks

Exam Duration:  2 hours

Other Important Points:

There will be 0.25 negative marking for wrong attempt; however, no credit will be given for unattempted questions.

It is required to pass each section with minimum qualifying marks. The sectional cutoff marks will be at discretion of IBPS.

The Exam will be held on Computer and the exam session will be closed as soon as the time limit set for exam gets over.

Syllabus of IBPS CWE for Probationary Officers:

Reasoning: Analogy, Judgment, Making Series, Statement and Conclusion, Syllogism, Coding-Decoding Etc.

English Language: Error detection, Cloze Test, Vocabulary, Comprehension, Grammar, General Usage of English language.

Quantitative Aptitude: Profit and Loss, Number System, Average, Time and Money, Distance-Time –Speed, Roots, Plus-Minus of Numbers, Area of Figures, Chain Rule, Data Interpretation.

General Awareness: Science, Economy, Banking, Sports, Politics, Business Etc.

Computer Knowledge: Simple Questions related with the functioning of Computer
