Chandrayaan 3, also known as “Vikram,” is India’s latest lunar mission aimed at exploring the Moon’s south pole. Chandrayaan 3 Tracker Live Location Status

Given the challenges of space exploration, ISRO has adopted a failure-based approach for this mission. This approach allows scientists to learn from any setbacks and gather valuable data about the Moon, even in case of any troubles during the mission. The previous Chandrayaan 2 mission faced some design issues, but scientists are hopeful that the new approach will lead to success.

Chandrayaan 3 consists of an indigenous Lander module, a propulsion module, and a Rover, all equipped with scientific payloads for in-situ experiments on the lunar surface. The mission’s objectives include achieving a safe landing on the Moon, demonstrating the Rover’s capabilities, and conducting scientific observations to understand the composition of the Moon’s surface, including ice, water, and minerals.

The south pole of the Moon, being less explored, provides an advantage for India’s mission as it allows for potential discoveries and new insights. While China, the US, and the Soviet Union have already made strides in lunar exploration, Chandrayaan 3 presents an opportunity for India to make its mark in the field.

As of now, the success of the mission remains uncertain until the spacecraft is launched and accomplishes its objectives.
