The Government of Assam, Department of School Education, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan holds Assam Teacher Eligibility Test commonly known as Assam TET. All aspirants who wish to teach Primary and Upper Primary level in schools located in Assam must appear in this Examination mandatorily. The Assam TET 2014 is scheduled on 19th October, 2014 therefore those who have served as Siksha Mitra or Additional Siksha Mitra at in any of the 5015 erstwhile EGS centres at the time of upgradation to LP school submit their ONLINE applications from 1st to 10th September, 2014. Examination Name: Assam State Teachers Eligibility Test for Siksha Mitras and Additional Siksha Mitra (Lower Primary, Paper I)

Place of Examination: Assam

Essential Pre requisites:

It is mandatory for all applicants to be an Intermediate pass scoring not less than 50% marks in aggregate along with a Diploma Certification of 2 years’ duration in the discipline of Elementary Education or a Bachelor’s Degree holder in any discipline awarded by any UGC accredited Institute or University along with a Diploma Certification of 2 years’ duration in the discipline of Elementary Education or possess any qualification equivalent to thereto as per the official advertisement.

Examination Charges:

All applicants are supposed to make a payment of Rs.500/- against Examination Fee payable at any of the State Bank of India branches by means of a System Generated Bank Challan.

Examination Pattern for Graduate Teachers:

The Assam TET shall be consisting of 2 parts, each having 100 Multiple Choice Questions carrying 1 mark each. Therefore the total marks of this examination sums up to 200 marks and applicants need to score a minimum of 60% (55% for reserved candidates) of it to successfully qualify this examination. The 2 parts of this examination shall be categorized as follows:-

Part 1: General Studies & Current Affairs

Part 2: Pedagogy & General English. 

Examination Pattern for Post Graduate Teachers:

The Assam TET for Post Graduate Teachers shall be consisting of 2 Papers, each having 100 Multiple Choice Questions carrying 1 mark each. Candidates will be allotted with 2 hours for solving each paper. The total marks of this examination also sums up to 200 marks and applicants need to score a minimum of 60%  in both the paper separately (55% in case of reserved candidates) to successfully qualify this examination. The 2 Papers of this examination shall be categorized as follows:-

Paper 1: Pedagogy, English, Basic numerical and Assam and its people

Paper 2: This paper will consist of 3 options namely Option A (Commerce), Option B (Science) and Option C (General Studies and Current Affairs) as per the syllabus is of Higher Secondary standard. Candidates will have to choose only 1 of the options from these and also mention the same in their application form.
