Recently, there has been a flurry of rumors regarding Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal’s demise. These rumors seem to have originated from an incident where an iron mast, adorned with lights, collapsed onto the stage during an event, tragically resulting in one person’s fatality. However, it’s crucial to clarify that during this incident, Arjun Ram Meghwal narrowly escaped injury, as confirmed by the police.

This incident unfolded during the celebration of Ambedkar Jayanti in the Bhim Nagri neighborhood, falling under the jurisdiction of the Sadar police station. The tragic event was exacerbated by strong winds, causing the aforementioned iron mast to tumble onto the dignitaries seated on the stage. Arjun Ram Meghwal was the event’s chief guest and Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Culture. He was delivering a speech when the incident unfolded. Born in the quaint town of Kishmidesar in Bikaner, Rajasthan, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal is the offspring of Lakhu Ram Meghwal and Hira Devi. His educational journey led him to attain degrees in political science, law, and business administration from the University of the Philippines and Dungar College in Bikaner, India. He completed his law degree in 1977 and earned a post-graduate degree in arts as a regular student in 1979. Arjun Ram Meghwal is happily married to Pana Devi, with whom he shares two sons and two daughters. Besides his political endeavors, he is known for his proficiency in badminton and previously held a bureaucratic position. Interestingly, he is related to Madan Gopal Meghwal, who is also a prominent Indian National Congress politician.

Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal’s political journey commenced when he was elected as a Member of Parliament for the Bharatiya Janata Party from the Bikaner Constituency in 2009. He officially assumed office in the Lok Sabha on June 2, 2009. His dedication to public service led to his re-election to the 16th Lok Sabha in the general election of 2014, once again representing the Bikaner Constituency. During his second term as an MP, he took on the pivotal role of Chief Whip of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Lok Sabha. Furthermore, he was nominated by the Lok Sabha’s speaker to serve as the chairman of the House Committee. In May 2019, Arjun Ram Meghwal was bestowed with the role of Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Heavy Industries, and Public Enterprises. Before venturing into politics, he contributed to the Rajasthan Administrative Service, making significant contributions to the state’s civil service. In 1980, he entered the military, passing the RAS exams in 1982, and was selected to serve as the Rajasthan Udhyog Seva.
