AMIE Exam Pattern 2014 Details of Eligibility, Examination Scheme & Qualifying Criteria
The AMIE (Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers) is the qualifying exam for obtaining professional certification as provided by the Institution of Engineers in India. The exam is held twice a year in the months of June and December respectively. The applicants can participate in the concerned entrance exam by qualifying in the all the papers as specified for this purpose. The AMIE Exam is recognized by the Ministry of HRD (Human Resource Development) Government of India, UK- NARIC as a British UG Degree and Foreign Credential Service of America as a South America UG Degree respectively.

Conducting Authority: Institution of Engineers, India
Eligibility for Exam:
The applicants should have passed Diploma in Polytechnic or any other equivalent degree in the different branches of engineering or Class12th/ Higher Secondary Certificate/ PDC in the following subjects- Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry respectively with the minimum of 45% marks can apply for the concerned entrance exam.
Scheme of Examination:
The AMIE Exam shall be held in two main sections –
Section I: is for the Non- Diploma Stream of candidates
Section II: is for the Diploma Stream of candidates

Duration of Exam: 3 Hours (for each paper)
The candidates can appear and qualify in a maximum of four papers at a time. The candidates should re- appear for a paper on failing to qualify in that particular paper of the exam.
