AIMCET stands for All India MCA (Master of Computer Applications) Common Entrance Test. The test is a national level entrance exam conducted for selecting eligible and qualified candidates in the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) courses. The scores in the AIMCET will be used by the leading colleges and universities including IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) of India. The minimum eligibility for participating in the AIMCET is a Bachelors Degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics as a major subject of study for this purpose. The entrance exam shall consist of 200 questions to be solved in three hours duration. The main sections of exam shall be following: Mathematics, Computer Awareness, Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning and General Awareness respectively. The entrance exam is usually held in the June/ July months for all the eligible candidates.

The entrance exam requires qualifying the entrance exam in the prescribed cut off marks and merit for getting final admissions.
