AIMCET Admit Card 2014

AIMCET stands for All India MCA Common Entrance Test is an entrance examination held on National Level constituted by the IIT, Roorkee for admissions into the MCA programme. The aspirants so as to appear in said examination must hold a Bachelor degree in the relevant discipline with minimum per cent of scores as specified for the purpose. AIMCET Paper Pattern:

There are total four sections of the AIMCET Exam, consisting of the following subjects—-

1- Mathematics (100 Questions)

2- Computer Awareness (40 Questions)

3- Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning (40 Questions)

4- General Awareness (20 Questions)

AIMCET Syllabus:

Mathematics—

Co-ordinate Geometry – Equations of a line, intersections Mid point, etc., distance formulae, equations of a circle, pair of straight lines, ellipse and hyperbola, parabola, etc.

Algebra – Expansion, simultaneous linear / quadratic equations, factorization, indices, arithmetic, logarithms, geometric & harmonic progressions, permutations & combinations, binomial theorem etc.

Calculus – Limit of functions, differentiation of functions(s), continuous functions, Tangents & normal, Integration of function by parts, simple examples of maxima and minima etc

Vector – Additions & subtraction of vectors, scalar and vector products and their applications to simple geometrical problems and mechanics etc

Differential Equations – Linear differential equations with constant coefficients, Differential equations of first order and their solutions, homogenous linear differential equations etc

Trigonometry – Trigonometric equations, solution of triangles, properties of triangles, height and distance etc

Computer Awareness:

Flow chart and Algorithms

Basics Computer – Organization of a computer, Structure of instructions in CPU, Central Processing Unit (CPU), input / output devices etc

Computer Architecture – Block structure of computers, interrupts, communication between processor and I / O devices etc

Data Representation – Binary and hexadecimal representations, Integers, Representation of characters, and fractions, Binary Arithmetic; Subtraction, Addition, division etc.

Computer Language – Assembly language and high level language, Computer Programming in C, Multiprogramming and time sharing operating systems, etc

Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning:

Logical reasoning, Visuo-spatial reasoning & Quantitative reasoning etc

General Awareness:

GK about business, industry, finance, transportation, governance, scientific inventions, healthcare & cultural dimensions etc.
