AFMC Exam Pattern 2014 Detailed Structure of Exam and Selection Criteria

The Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) is one of the renowned medical colleges in India providing higher education in the field of Medicine and Dentistry etc. The Armed Forces Medical College is affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences Nasik to provide UG and PG degrees in the medicine as well as other allied disciplines including dentistry. Those applicants who wish to take admissions in the concerned college should appear and qualify in the entrance exams as conducted for this purpose by the college concerned or qualify in the NEET/ AIPMT /any other equivalent entrance exams as acceptable by the college for admissions.

Name of Exam: AFMC Entrance Exam

Conducting Authority: Armed Forces Medical College

Courses of Admission: MBBS/ BDS

Eligibility for Exam:

The applicants should be Intermediate passed with a minimum of 50% marks obtained in the Science Group of subjects. A relaxation of 10% marks shall be granted to the applicants belonging to the reserved categories (SC/ST).

Pattern of Examination:

The AFMC entrance Exam shall be based on the syllabus of the Class 11th and 12th standards having objective type multiple choice questions on the following subjects:

Section 1: Biology (Zoology & Botany) 50 Questions

Section 2: Chemistry (50 Questions)

Section 3: Physics (50 Questions)

Section 4: Intelligence, Logic and Reasoning (25 Questions) and

Section 5: English Language and Comprehension (25 Questions)

Duration of Exam: 2 Hours/ 120 Minutes

Total Number of Questions: 200

Marking Scheme:

The applicants will be given one mark per question for the right attempts made by them while there will be a deduction of 0.25 marks for all the incorrect attempts made by them respectively. Since, there is negative marking in the exam hence, the applicants should attempt only those questions about which they are sure and know the answers.

The applicants who successfully qualify in the written exam shall be called for the next round of selection which is Interview conducted by the AFMC only.
