Starfield Sabotage Quest Walkthrough Find a Way Into Research & Development

Sabotage Mission in Starfield's Research and Development Department

News: Ryujin Industries provides a corporate lifestyle with its own advantages, yet it poses certain challenges. Among them is the Sabotage mission within the Research and Development department of Starfield. This piece will walk you through the necessary steps for effectively accomplishing this mission.

Stealth Activities and Progress Saving

Prior to undertaking the Sabotage mission, be mindful that it entails a series of stealth activities. Ensure to save your progress frequently, as detection may require you to backtrack. It’s noteworthy that I faced challenges in completing the mission without detection, though it remains uncertain whether these difficulties stemmed from my own shortcomings or intricacies within the game’s mechanics.

Attending the Board Meeting and Installing the Neuroamp

Commence the mission by participating in a board meeting where the team deliberates on the present scenario and outlines future plans. Following the meeting, you’ll undergo a procedure to have Ryujin’s Internal Neuroamp installed in your head. This implant is essential for advancing in the mission.

Gaining Access to the Research and Development Building

For gaining entry to the Research and Development building, you have two choices. The first entails entering through rooftop access, involving trespassing and demanding stealth for navigating to your targets. The second option involves scheduling an appointment, allowing you to be visible but restricting access to the marketing floor.

Opting for the appointment is advisable, as it enables you to avoid constant hiding during your time in the building. Moreover, it provides more chances to leverage speech perks like persuasion to your benefit. Regardless of your decision, after conversing with Masako, proceed to meet with Ularu to obtain the essential materials for your mission.

Sabotaging the Heating System or Running the Program

Opting to enter through the front desk requires checking in with the receptionist. Following her instructions, take the elevator to the Marketing department. Once the receptionist departs, proceed to either sabotage the heating system or run the program on Lucas’ computer.

For sabotaging the heating system, use the elevator to reach the rooftop and open the vent on your right. Utilize your Internal Neuroamp to control the guard below, disabling the fan. Descend through the vent, input the passcode to activate the heating system, and return through the vents to position yourself in front of the guard outside Lucas’ office. Don the Operator Suit to minimize detection risk, then proceed to hack the door and enter Lucas’ office.

Inside Lucas’ office, hack into his computer. In case you lack Digipicks, locate one on the whiteboard in the room. After running the program on Lucas’ computer, it’s time to proceed to the Research and Development department.

Navigating Through the Building

Exiting Lucas’ office, turn left, and leap over the guard rail to descend onto the rafters of the floor below. Enter the nearest vent, leading to the ceiling walkways directly above the marketing lobby where you initially entered the building. From here, various routes can be taken to reach the R&D department from the elevator.

One option is to face the stairs leading further down the building, descending until you locate a vent marked by a waypoint. Navigating past some guards may be necessary, but slipping into the vent should minimize damage. Another route involves moving through the office space, enabling avoidance of guards and corrosive gas until you reach a room with a vent and a large storage crate. Utilize your Neuroamp to clear the way of guards as required.

Retrieving the Prototype and Exiting the Building

Continue following the vent until you descend onto the rafters of the next floor below, being cautious to avoid the gas venting onto the paths. Locate the path without gas and proceed along the rafters until you reach a vent with a waypoint. This vent will guide you to the elevator shaft, allowing you to descend to the desired level. Exit the vent, and in the hallway, you’ll encounter a guard facing the direction you need to go. Jump over the guard and use your boostpack to navigate the pipes above his head. Cross over to the pipes on the other side of the hallway and follow them into an open room. Enter the vent in the direction of Faye’s computer.

After running the program on Faye’s computer and gathering her belongings from her desk, retrace your steps. Return to the large room and use the pipes along the top to bypass the turrets and guards stationed there. This grants access to a large red door behind which the Neuromap prototype is located. Exercise caution as guards may detect you regardless of your hiding spot. Once you have the prototype, make your way back to any of the elevators in the building and exit.

Delivering the Incriminating Information and Concluding the Mission

With the prototype in your possession, proceed to SSNN and deliver the incriminating information to David. This action helps expose Infinity LTD’s wrongdoings while preserving your anonymity. Following this, return to Masako to conclude the Sabotage mission in Starfield.

Depending on your earlier choices, the news report may implicate Masako, leading her to accuse you of setting her up. You can either lie and deny involvement or demand 10,000 credits in exchange for your silence. Regardless of your decision, conversing with Masako will reward you and signify the completion of the Sabotage mission in Starfield. This mission serves as a culmination of the Ryujin storyline, promising a more challenging experience. If you encounter difficulties with any mechanics, refer to our other guides. We are also available to assist you in navigating the game peacefully if needed.
