About Dr MGR University:

The Dr MGR University has been brought into existence by the Tmt. Kannammal Educational Trust constituted in the year 1985. The trust was responsible for the establishment foundational colleges of the university- Thai Moogambigai Polytechnic College and Dr MGR Engineering Colleges respectively. The two colleges later amalgamated to form the Dr MGR Educational Research Institute in the year 2003, the year of declaring the Institute as deemed university.

Admission Process:

The admissions to the university courses shall be done specifically on the basis of the merit obtained in the qualifying exam and entrance exam conducted by the university for this purpose. The candidates can avail the admission forms either in person from the university campus or by post by paying a DD (Demand Draft) drawn in favor of the “Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute payable at Chennai of Rs 850 or Cash Payment of Rs 750 respectively.
