WBJEE Exam Pattern 2014 Paper Pattern and Qualifying Criteria

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam (WBJEE) is the qualifying exam for taking admissions in the different engineering and medical courses offered by the universities of West Bengal state and other affiliated colleges participating in the concerned entrance exam. Eligibility for Exam:

The candidates should be at least intermediate/ Class 12th passed from any UGC recognized university/ colleges with the following subjects studied as the main subjects in the concerned qualifying exam: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry respectively.

Paper Pattern for WBJEE 2014:

There will be objective type multiple choice based questions on the following main subjects-

1. Mathematics:

 60 Questions of 1 mark each; 15 Questions of 2 Mark each and 5 Questions of 2 Mark each

Total Marks Allotted: 100

2. Biology:

60 Questions of 1 mark each; 15 Questions of 2 Mark each and 5 Questions of 2 Mark each

Total Marks Allotted: 100

3. Physics:

45 Questions of 1 Mark each; 15 Questions of 2 Mark each and 5 Questions of 2 Mark each

Total Marks Allotted: 75

4. Chemistry:

45 Questions of 1 Mark each; 15 Questions of 2 Mark each and 5 Questions of 2 Mark each

Marking Criteria:

The candidates shall be given one mark for each correct answers marked by them while there will be deduction of one-third marks for each incorrect answers marked by them. The candidates will be required to answer the question in the OMR Sheets as provided for this purpose. The questions left unattempted by the candidates will not be evaluated by the examination authorities. The candidates can use only Blue/ Black Ball Point Pens for answering the questions in the OMR.
